(I) MERCHANT SHIPPING (SAFETY CONVENTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 2)
REGULATIONS 2012
- This circular informs the Shipping Community on the entering into force of
the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations
2012.
- The Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International Maritime
Organisation had, on 20 May 2011, adopted amendments to Chapter III of the
International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974 (SOLAS 74), by
Resolution MSC.317(89). Shipping Circular No. 14 of 2011 provides further
information on this Resolution.
- The Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment No. 2)
Regulations 2012, which give effect to this Resolution, will enter into force on 1
January 2013.
