(II) MERCHANT SHIPPING (LOAD LINE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS
2014
- This circular informs the Shipping Community on the entering into force of
the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and
Merchant Shipping (Load Line) (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
- The Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International Maritime
Organisation (IMO) had, on 30 November 2012, adopted amendments to
Chapter II-1, II-2, III and forms of certificates and records of equipment contained
in the appendix to the annex, of the International Convention for the Safety of Life
at Sea 1974, as amended, by Resolution MSC.338(91) and MSC.344(91).
- The MSC had also adopted amendments to Chapter III of Annex I of the
International Convention on Load Lines, 1966, as modified by the Protocol of
1988 (LL 88) by Resolution MSC.345(91).
- Shipping Circular No. 5 of 2013 provides further information on the
Resolutions.
- The Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment) Regulations
2014, and Merchant Shipping (Load Line) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 which
gives effect to the Resolutions, will enter into force on 1 July 2014.
- Copies of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment)
